Birdbath?
Wasn't
meant to be in the first place, but that is what it seems to suggest to most people.
It was supposed to be a quaich perched on a bundle of shinty sticks. For
the uninitiated, a quaich is a Scottish Highland drinking cup. Shinty is a game,
rather like a particularly wild form of hockey, played in Scotland.
This
was a commissioned piece created in the mid-nineties for a hotel owner in Newtonmore,
Scottish Highlands.
Height: 6ft. Wood:
Silver Fir.
